Process

The prompt “America Is…” was the first challenge of this process. I chose to make my project about consumer waist and it’s impact on the environment. This isn’t exclusive to the United States, however we more than most other nations are associated with global brands and have one of the largest environmental impacts. My daily walks around campus have always followed a river, so this inspired the metaphor I’d be using.

I designed soda cans in Illustrator which I could take into After Effects and use layer mask to rotate, other miscellaneous pieces of debris, and then a looping animation of a flower that would be my stars. Then made a serious of shape layers and keyframed their path to create running water.
